A high-altitude zoo management society manages the Nainital Zoo, the Bharat Ratna Pandit-Govind Ballabh Pant. Founded in 1984, the main objective of zoo management is to maintain biodiversity, encourage conversation, and protect wildlife.

TECHNICALITIES

The zoo covers a green area of 4.693 hectares and is home to multiple endangered species, some of which have even been adopted by people and animal organizations. The altitude of the zoo is 2100 meters, which makes the zoo a beloved location for many animals and birds. The zoo is locally called “Sher ka Danda” on the hill slope in Nainital.
